Q:  What is the Find search box?

The Find search box is a way for users to find local Service Providers.

Q:  What is a Service Provider?

A Service Provider is anyone, company or individual, who performs services.  For example, house painters, music teachers, musicians, fence builders, pool cleaners, wedding photographers, florists, doctors, dentists, lawyers, childcare providers, and jewelry designers are all Service Providers.  The list is virtually endless.

Q:  What is a service?

When one person performs work for another they are said to have provided a service.  With a service the value comes not from a tangible thing that can be purchased (like a lamp or a computer), but from the knowledge and skill offered by the Service Provider.  For example, perhaps you need someone to mow your lawn, or maybe you want help completing your taxes.  These are examples of services.

Q:  What is a Buyer?

A Buyer is anyone who purchases a service from a Service Provider?

Q:  What is a Member?

A Member is anyone in the NotAProblem.com system who has an account (both Buyers and Service Providers).

Q:  How do I use the Find search box?

Enter a word into the Find field, representing a service you'd like performed, and specify the maximum search distance from your local zip code.  Press Search and we'll return a list of local Service Providers meeting your criteria.

Q:  What is the Narrow By box?

The Narrow By box allows you to filter your search by Reputation, Price, Category, and Popular Tags/Keywords.  Use our drop down boxes or click on an applicable word to narrow your search.

Q:  What is Reputation?

Reputation is the overall rating of a Member.  We illustrate Reputation using a four star rating system.  The more stars, the higher the rating.  Reputation is calculated based on Member reviews.  On this particular page, Reputation represents the overall rating of a Service Provider and is calculated based on reviews from Buyers who have previously hired Service Providers.

Q:  What is Price?

Price is a relative measure of how expensive other Buyers have found a Provider's service to be. We have chosen the words Low, Average, Above Average, and High as relative measures of the cost to hire a Service Provider.  The Price rating is calculated based on reviews from Buyers who have previously hired Service Providers.

Q:  What are Categories?

Categories are ways of grouping Service Providers. You can use them to further refine a search.  Each Service Provider must place their business into categories based on the work they perform (just like in the telephone book's yellow pages).  Click on the categories in the Narrow By field to limit your result.

Q:  What are Popular Tags/Keywords?

Popular Tags/Keywords are similar to categories with one distinction.  Categories are words NotAProblem created within our database to associate with a Service Provider's profile.  While Popular Tags/Keywords are words created by each individual Service Provider for their specific profile to support additional ways to search and find them within the NotAProblem system.  Click on a Tag/Keyword to further narrow your search.

Q:  How do I use the Category List?

Click on a plus sign (+) to expand the list and a minus sign (-) to close the list.  Once you've found a category of interest, click its title to activate a search.

Q:  How can I use the alphabet letters?

The alphabet letters provide yet another way to filter the list of Service Providers.  Simply click a desired letter to see a list of specific categories beginning with that letter.  To see categories beginning with something other than a letter (like numbers) click the # sign.

Q:  What happens if I select the Results tab?

The Results tab will take you to a list of Service Providers matching your search criteria.

Q:  What happens if I select “Get Quotes”?

“Get Quotes” allows you to fill out a New Project Request form.  The request is used to invite Service Providers to submit a quote for the work you need completed.  You must Login to submit a project request.

Q:  How do I Login?

Click the Login link located in the upper right corner of the screen.  On the Login page, you will be asked to provide your Login as well as your Password to access your online account.

Q:  How do I Sign Up?

To become a Member, click the Sign Up link (located in the upper right corner of the screen).  Our sign up system is quick, easy and absolutely free!  If you are a Buyer, complete the Member's Sign Up page.  If you are a Service Provider, please click the Business user's link on the Member's Sign Up page to take you to the Service Provider's Sign Up page.

All Members are Buyers, however only certain businesses and individuals, meeting NotAProblem's qualification, may become Service Providers.  A Member may be both a Buyer and a Service Provider as long as they create two separate accounts.

NotAProblem prides itself on delivering a safe and trusted community environment. Therefore we separate Service Providers from Buyers so that each can develop their own reputation. NotAProblem only wants the best for each user, therefore a safe place for interaction is essential.

Q:  What does the small search box in the upper right-hand corner of the screen do?

This search box searches our entire site for Service Providers, Project Requests, and Deals.  It even searches our site for Help topics.
