Pigeon Forge Tennessee

Another great beltway town, the sister town of Gatlinburg, is Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Although similarly smaller than Branson as Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge is not devoid of its own character. The outdoors is a ready escape, just minutes from the entrance to the Smoky Mountains National Park. One of the world's largest nature preserve, the park boasts safe haven to a remarkably large variety of wildlife.

There is no shortage of entertainment in this area; the two cities of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg combine to offer a modicum of tours, attractions, and theme parks. The Track Family Fun Center and Dollywood come to mind. Though not as rich with live stage performance as Branson, the proximity to the mountains, its relationship to country music mecca Nashville, and the general southern locality prove that music has its place here.

The diverse selection of dining in Pigeon Forge compares easily to those of Branson, although it is readily apparent that the cuisine bears the considerable influence of the South.
